The shoulder joint is inherently unstable, owing to it’s shallow socket. This allows for a large range of motion and the hand can be moved all around the upper body and head with ease. As a result it is open to injury from trauma such as falls or repetitive strains from using the upper limb in your occupation or recreationally in the gym.
Shoulder instability may lead to recurrent dislocations or shoulder pain and difficulty raising the arm. Physical Therapy treatment, manual therapy to the rotator cuff and cervical region coupled with strengthening and stability exercises is a very effective treatment.
At PT38 we provide the best treatment for shoulder pain. We will bring you through a step by step rehabilitation program to return stability and function to the shoulder.
